Speak Like A Child Back

TSC1 Speak Like A Child. Fresh out of The Jam, Paul Weller immediately set about demonstrating what his new outfit was about, with a charmingly breezy number, complete with a surprising line in self-irony: "You're cool and hard, and if I sound like a lecher / It's probably true, but at least there's no lecture". Speak Like a Child is the debut single from The Style Council, released on 11/03/83 and was included on the album, Introducing The Style Council later in 1983. Backed with "Party Chambers", it became a hit, peaking at number 4 & spends 8 weeks in the UK charts. It has remained one of their most enduring hits. The single also features Tracie Young, who had just signed to Weller's Respond Records label, on backing vocals.
